How to Get the Best Price
Shop Memorial Day and Presidents Day sales
Mattress brands run their biggest discounts on US federal holidays. Memorial Day typically offers 30–40% off. Presidents Day and Labor Day are also strong.
Use trial periods to your advantage
Most online mattress brands offer 100-night free trials. Buy during a sale, sleep on it, return if it's not right. Casper, Purple, Saatva, and Helix all have generous trial policies.
Negotiate at showrooms
Brick-and-mortar mattress stores (Mattress Firm, Sleep Number) often have significant margin. Asking for a discount or free accessories is standard practice. Sales staff expect it.
Consider white-glove delivery
Some brands (Saatva, Sleep Number) include free delivery, setup, and old mattress removal in the price. This can be worth $100–$200 vs brands that charge extra.
Compare the same model, not just the brand
Tempur-Pedic ADAPT Medium at $2,699 is not comparable to Zinus Green Tea at $330. Compare within the same tier. A $1,000–$1,500 hybrid from a direct-to-consumer brand is often equivalent to a $2,000+ showroom model.
